When Oranje plays, the experience is everything. The stadium experience is 360: the pre-match ceremony, the game and the unique Orange atmosphere. Not everyone can take all of that in the same way. That is why Sport Sounds delivers live audio description at every senior international (women’s and men’s) for supporters with a visual impairment.
The approach
Sport Sounds delivered live audio description at every senior international and at the KNVB Cup final in 2025. Supporters listened in via their own smartphone and earbuds, powered by Mycrocast technology — no extra hardware, no fixed seating required. The audio stream was accessible through a direct browser link and worked anywhere in the stadium on 4G and 5G.
In 2025, audio description also went on tour for the first time:
not anchored to a single venue, but spread across multiple stadiums around the country. The service was deployed at matches of both the men’s and the women’s national teams.

Together with advocacy organisations such as Koninklijke Visio and Bartiméus (the leading Dutch organisations supporting people with visual impairments), we build trust within the community, often supported by the network of the host club and its fans. That awareness around accessibility for this audience keeps growing — and lets us keep improving the service!
The partnership
This programme was delivered in partnership with the KNVB, with the goal of making audio description a structural part of how matches are organised.
